Creative & original artwork that captures the essence of your story
Children’s books live in bedtime routines, quiet afternoons, classroom moments, and children carry their lessons long after the book is closed.
At Pufli, our work is centered around helping authors navigate the visual side of children’s book creation with clarity and confidence.

Timeline
Most picture books take at least a few months to illustrate. Many projects land somewhere in the three-to-four-month range, depending on complexity and pace.
Budget
Costs vary widely based on page count and illustration style. Professionally illustrated books often require a few thousand dollars, with covers usually handled as a separate piece.
Rights & agreements
Illustration partnerships can be structured in different ways. If long-term use of characters matters to you, a Work for Hire agreement is often the clearest path. Illustrator credit is always part of the process.
A quick caution
Extremely low per-page pricing can be a red flag. It may point to AI-generated or non-original work, which often shows up later as inconsistency or technical issues.
You finisehd your manuscript, now what?. Here's a few helpful reference points as you explore illustrators:
Illustration that sparks emotion
We do illustration as a way to create lasting moments. We understand that making a children’s book represents years of ideas, memories, or meaningful experiences finally taking shape.
A children’s book is rarely just a book
Most authors who find us aren’t chasing trends or mass-market success.
They’re here because:
They want to preserve a personal story
They want to teach something that matters
They want children to feel seen, understood, or inspired
They remember what books meant to them growing up
Who this is for (and who it’s not)
We believe quality and alignment matter more than volume.
This may not be a good fit if you:
Are looking for the fastest or cheapest option available
Want guaranteed commercial success
Prefer a fully hands-off, transactional experience

This is likely a good fit if you:
Are creating a children’s book for personal, educational, or awareness reasons
Value quality, thoughtfulness, and collaboration
Want guidance, not shortcuts
